Free Space Optics

Outdoor and long-distance optical wireless communication.

Free Space Optics (FSO) covers optical wireless communication through the atmosphere — terrestrial point-to-point links, ground-to-aircraft and ground-to-satellite communication, and underwater optical links. The network's research targets channel modelling, link availability, and adaptive designs that handle weather and turbulence.
